Fashion Is A Religion, Vogue Is The Bible

Accessory Report

One of the most statement making accesories that definitly stood out this Spring 2010 season, was Alexander McQueens warrior type ankle high pumps. The shoe came in a variety of colours from black to tan, but this mixture of dark and light brown with it's patent finish truly stole the show. The toe and heel of the shoe, done in what looks like metal resembled the medeval armour warriors wore in battle. So women, while you battle this recession, why not do it in style?

Sightings

Rihanna was spotted at the Paris, Spring 2010 Chanel show looking as flawless as she does in magazines. The Barbadian beauty wore a lavish Chanel bejeweled statement necklace and a Chanel Paris-Moscow bag along with a simple white bustier and a tweed skirt. With her perfectly coiffed hair and lush red lips, she once again stole the spotlight.

We Overheard That...

A Vogue Paris favorite may just get her long overdue cover. The recent rumor that has The Fashion Spot in a tizzy is that of "Who will be on the November issue of French Vogue?" The Vogue favorite was recently photographed by Mario Sorrenti, and Inez and Vinoodh Matadin for the November issue of French Vogue. Although she did not do any runway work for the Spring 2010 season, she has appeared in the magazine so often that it would come as no surprise that she lands her own cover soon.

Vogue Paris October 2009: Top Model Issue Strikes Up Controversy

By XavierRaphael · October 16, 2009 · 1 Comment · 706 Views

This month's Vogue Paris, with supermodel Kate Moss on the cover, is dedicated to the top models in the industry. The cover is a typical Vogue Paris cover, sexy and sensual, but it's contents is creating quite a stir at CNN headquarters, not so sexy. Inside the issue model Lara Stone appears in an editorial, photographed by Steven Klein, in full black body makeup. CNN pointed out that although it may be high fashion, but it's seemingly racist. A few people were interviewed for the thoughts on the situation, one said that fashion is not political, another declared that they could have just gotten one of the many beautiful black models to do the shoot. What did Vogue Paris say concerning the issue? Nothing. CNN tried to get in contact with the influential magazine but they refused to comment on the situation. As for our opinion, Lara Stone is doing what she does best, and Steven Klein captures the vixen perfectly. Carine Roitfeld gave her readers exactly what they want every month, sexuality, shock, and awe. [TFS]

US Vogue September 2009: Charlize Theron

By XavierRaphael · August 10, 2009 · 0 Comments · 517 Views

Charlize Theron is gracing the September 2009 issue of US Vogue, the biggest issue of the year. This issue is a mere 584 pages, not much bigger than their March issue (510 Pages), this is such a downfall from their last September issue which was a whole 798 pages and don't even talk about their biggest issue ever. All we can hope for is that this 584 pages jams some extremely amazing contents down our throats. [TFS]

David Yurman Fall-Winter 09/10: Anna Jagodzinska & Amber Valetta

By XavierRaphael · August 10, 2009 · 0 Comments · 186 Views

The new David Yurman has hit the net, it was first seen in the September issue of US Elle. The ads are nothing but sensual, and Anna J really serves it up for the brand. The campaign is presumably photographed by Peter Lindbergh, and they are sticking to the usual Supermodel cast. So does this officially mean that Anna J is here to stay? We sure hope so, judging from her line of work for this year only, I'm she's sure going nowhere. As for Amber, well, when doesn't she look fabulous?[TFS]

We are confused as to whether we should look at their stunning faces, or the beautiful, lavish clothing. They really epitomize the Fall season and were perfectly chosen to do so, they both have unique faces just like the collections.

(Julia Hafstrom, Anna de Rijk, Dorothea Barth Jorgensen)

For this groundbreaking issue of Vogue Italia, Steven Meisel has photographed some of the chicest ensembles as well as the seasons freshest faces. In an editorial entitled "All Tomorrow's Parties" Meisel photographs some familiar faces such as Meghan Collison, who also appears on the cover, as well as Nimue Smit who was also photographed by Meisel for the Spring 2009 Prada ad campaign. In an issue that displays the best of the Pre-Fall collections picking young hot models like Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Julia Hafstrom, Sara Blomqvist and Darya Kurovska all to show us how young, risque and sexy the 80's themed clothing are was the best idea Meisel has had since putting Sasha on his last cover. The Pre-Fall Preview doesn't stop there, Tim Walker photographs Malgosia Bela in "Fashion & Fantasy", Sessilee Lopez stars in "A Singular Style" and Imogen Morris and Abbey Lee shine in "Neo-Romantic" photographed by Emma Summerton.[TFS]

US Vogue June 2009: Pieced Together (Recession Chic)

By XavierRaphael · May 23, 2009 · 0 Comments · 1,482 Views

US Vogue is famous for many things, but they have become increasingly aware of the current economic crisis. It's wonderful that they have gone through an excruciating though process on how to mix and match ensembles, making them not only chip and chic but also extremely easy to imitate. In their recent issue, featuring cover star Cameron Diaz who talks about being eco-chic, Marie-Amelie Sauve has pieced together an editorial that gives women twenty-one seperate pieces and transforming them from day to night and work to weekend ensembles. And for their new readers, they have provided how-to instructions, kind of like ELLE magazine, but without being tacky. They first instruct women to dress up their simple shorts with a romantic blouse and a tailored blazer, the new blazer covers up classic tees to button down bustiers. A belted tunic over a bleached denim bottom with flat sandals is a perfect weekend ensemble, not to mention the fact that a sequin t-shirt instantly adds enough color and shine to a simple khaki, white or black pant. A sleek bustier can make you sexy and office chic too, style it up with a sexy tight minnie skirt with strappy heels or worn under a jacket with pants. To add edge or some creativity to the bustier you could wear a sport tank, which goes with almost anything, even cropped khakis which are both preppy and casual. If your both sporty and edgy, a metallic jacket (sheen is the new neutral) can be worn with jeans and flats not take the edge down a notch, but if your looking for that edge pair the jacket with a dotted blouse, having it untucked makes a wild and fantastic difference, and black pants, which is a HUGE closet basic. The classic button down has proven, yet again, to be a closet perennial, it goes great with a creative corporative short suit, or can even give simplicity to the new khaki/safari look. For evening the textured skirt is a new staple, add a lacy blouse and stilettos as well as a armful of bangles to the mix and your ready for a night on the town. A boyfriend blazer, a two tone oxford shirt and a pair of jeans make for an amazing office ensemble, not to mention these separates are adaptable to most office wear. A bold shouldered top is less adaptable to anything, but a women's gotta splurge! Pair the top with a high-waisted pant and a metallic jacket for some extra drama. Pastel cardigans are the new oversized knits, their perfect for around the office (with a skirt) and for salty seaside nights (with a jean bottom), the cardigan can even be worn over a day dress (make sure there's print) the dress is also perfect for flirtatious lunch dates and MUST be worn with pumps and lot's of baubles. One of the most versatile looks is the tuxedo vest which can be transformed into a modern "le smoking" suit by adding khakis or a pair of suit shorts. The looks that Patrick Demarchelier has captured in his photographs are both easy to imitate, mix and match and most importantly cheap and chic.[TFS]

UK Vogue June 2009: Jourdan Has More Dash Than Cash

By XavierRaphael · May 10, 2009 · 0 Comments · 769 Views

British Vogue has a knack for doing editorials much like this one, but this one features "Sparkling and glassy gems and seductive footwear brings out the best in a simple dress." The editorial is British Vogue's way of helping you cope with the current economic crisis. You could have a simple Chanel shift dress, and totally change it up for day and for night, and this is what the editorial brings to the table. The editorial gives women a new way of dealing with the new look they like to call "modern pretty", mixing street-chic accessories with glamorous cocktail and body con dresses. But as great as the editorial is, I'm beginning to wonder if Teen Vogue is giving Vogue some of their cast-off shoots. I feel like i've seen this done before, but with a certain young Dolce & Gabbana favorite (Karlie Kloss). [TFS]

Vogue Italia May 2009: Arlenis Sosa Glitters In Glitter

By XavierRaphael · May 10, 2009 · 0 Comments · 896 Views

Usually in a shoot dedicated to displaying the seasons best "bling", the model never tends to command much attention. That's not the case with this shoot, on the contrary, Arlenis commands so much attention it's hard to pay attention to those Dolce & Gabbana gems. Michelangelo Di Battista not only captures Arlenis in the seasons best silks, knits and geometric shapes, but he also captured her beauty so perfectly his images could rival that of David Sims (I say this because Sims is the master of studio editorials). The shoot is created in such a way as to not have the reader bored to tears (Some studio edits tend to to just this), the chosen ensembles are chosen so meticulously it really evokes so much creativity that the designers have put into their clothing. About The Site

  • invogue is for everything and everyone heard, seen and mentioned in Vogue. It is a seductive way of getting entangled in the love triangle of fashion trends, shows and people.

We Just Love..

This months Italian Vogue featured models Karlie Kloss and Rianne ten Haken on their cover. The magazines main editorial featuring Iris Strubegger, Dorothea Barth Jorgensen, Kasia Struss, Irina Kulikova, Monika Jagaciak, Simon Nessman and our two cover stars is entitled Too Shy Shy...Hush Hush and is photographed by none other than Steven Meisel. The editorial is everything an Italian Vogue editorial should be, weird, risque and very high fashion. We love the dark mood, and the eccentric colours and styling, not to mention those luxurious accessories.

Front Page

It seems that Meisel's muse, Karlie Kloss, has finally landed on the front page of the October 2009 Vogue Italia. Alongside Rianne ten Haken who has had one previous Vogue Italia cover in December of 2003. This months issue is themed "Stylish Women", although many may argue that Karlie is less of a women than other models, we can see her getting comfortable in her skin and maturing. What with all her work for countless magazines, she truly has grown into a woman. As for Rianne, her fiery hair and beautiful body has established her as sensuous woman.

Defining Face

The stunning French beauty who has been featured in Vogue Paris to be one of the next top French models, you will want to remember the name Mathilde Frachon. This season she walked for top designers like D&G, Proenza Schouler, Sonia Rykiel and Marc Jacobs. Her pouty mouth, stunning eyes, and lavish locks makes this fresh faced beauty unlike any others.
